Romanian Innovation Turns Heads at Nexus Luxembourg 2025 — Momentum Builds for 2026 Edition

Romania’s tech sector drew widespread attention at Nexus Luxembourg 2025, a major international tech and innovation event held in Luxembourg on 17–18 June, with ten companies and 12 brands* presenting cutting-edge solutions across AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and enterprise software. The Romanian Pavilion organised by Romania-Luxembourg Business Forum asbl (RomLux), under the theme “Expertise and High-Tech Made in Romania”, stood out as one of the most dynamic national representations at the event and the only one of its kind too.

The Romanian Pavilion highlighted the country’s growing reputation as a source of high-impact innovation, moving beyond its traditional image as an outsourcing destination. From autonomous robotic platforms to advanced cybersecurity consulting and scalable digital infrastructure, the technologies presented attracted strong interest from institutional stakeholders, investors and partners.

The RomLux team facilitated key introductions with prominent Luxembourg stakeholders, including Luxinnovation, the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology (LIST), Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), the Luxembourg Private Equity Association (LPEA), to name but a few.

These engagements were supported by a tailored programme featuring presentations on the Luxembourg innovation ecosystem, funding opportunities, and one-to-one discussions on R&D funding and partnership pathways available to start-ups through these organisations and associations. Participants were also able to arrange their own B2B meetings over the two days through the Swapcard platform, enabling targeted networking and relevant conversations.

The Romanian Pavilion was also honoured by the participation of HE Livia Rusu, Ambassador of Romania to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and Jérôme Petry, Director for Circular Economy and Clean Technologies at the Ministère de l’Économie – Luxembourg, whose engagement underlined the growing recognition of Romania’s tech potential in Luxembourg and beyond.

This year’s edition of Nexus raised the bar, with over 8,500 attendees – a 51% increase from its inaugural edition in 2024 – and a vibrant showcase of ingenuity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit.

For the Romanian contingent the journey began with a high-energy Warm-Up Networking Event the day before the conference, where our exhibitors were invited to pitch their business ideas in an engaging ‘elevator pitch’ format.

The Romanian Pavilion gained strong media and audience engagement, with tailored communications leading up to and during the event. Coverage in leading tech outlets such as TechSense and Silicon Luxembourg (quoted at the end of this article) confirmed the Pavilion’s success and praised Romania’s contribution to shaping the future of digital transformation.

Looking Ahead to Nexus 2026 (10-11 June 2026)

Building on this year’s momentum, RomLux encourages Romanian companies — particularly innovative start-ups and scale-ups — to start considering participation in the 2026 edition of Nexus Luxembourg.
